6.32. GDBM-1.9.1
The GDBM package contains the GNU Database Manager. This is a disk file format database which stores key/data-
pairs in single files. The actual data of any record being stored is indexed by a unique key, which can be retrieved
in less time than if it was stored in a text file.
Approximate build time: 0.1 SBU
Required disk space: 2.7 MB
6.32.1. Installation of GDBM
Prepare GDBM for compilation:
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-li/jointfilesconvert/297116/bgdbm-compat
The meaning of the configure option:
--enable-li/jointfilesconvert/297116/bgdbm-compat
This switch enables the li/jointfilesconvert/297116/bgdbm compatibility library to be built, as some packages outside of LFS may require
the older DBM routines it provides.
Compile the package:
make
To test the results, issue:
make check
Install the package:
make install
